Maintaining the Application
Application Maintenance:
This utility corrects any errors that may have developed in the HVAC Office application. These errors may occur if
you experience a power outage while the system is in use. They can also be caused by users turning off the
computer without properly shutting down the system, closing Windows without exiting HVAC Office, etc.
If you have multiple HVAC Office computers on a network, Application Maintenance should be run on any system
on your network if that one system is exhibiting problems (and all the other HVAC Office computers are not
experiencing any problems). If all computers on the network are exhibiting the same or similar operational problems,
please see the section above, Database Maintenance.
This utility need only be run if an error occurs (see Appendix C).
To run Application Maintenance
1.
Exit HVAC Office on the affected computer.
2.
In Windows 95, 98, WinNT Windows Millennium, XP, or XP Pro; click Start, click Programs, click Quantrac
HVAC Office, and click Application Maintenance. The program will run and notify you upon completion.
This utility will only take a few seconds. Application maintenance is not required on a periodic basis, but should only
be used when unexplained errors and inoperative functions occur. Functionally, Application Maintenance simply
replaces the working copy of the app (Hvac01a.app) with a virgin copy.
We have taken many steps and have created this special programming in order to insure that your
valuable database is never lost. It is very important to us that you have complete confidence in
your HVAC Office system. In the very rare event that you experience problems with your
database, you may need to restore it from your latest hard drive or floppy backup. We
recommend that you contact Quantrac at 972/271-6898 before beginning this procedure.
