Part 2 System Customization - 20 -
Pre-entered Installation Tab Definitions:
Action Required: This tab is selected by default each time the Installations form is opened. It lists installations
that have immediate action requested by your customer. (e.g. Time to set Grilles and Registers, Owner wants air
balanced, Time to set outside units).
Unscheduled: This tab is for installations that you have signed contracts or verbal agreements, but the start date
is some time in the future that is not specific. This allows for preparation of installation materials and supplies in
advance and alerts your staff of probably installations pending.
Scheduled: This tab is for installations that have specific start dates (or at least the date of the first day of the
week in which your customer expects your companys installation crew to appear at their home/property.
Today: This tab is for installations that are in progress today.
In Progress: This tab is for jobs that are in progress, but your installation crews are not at the sites today because
of your companys scheduling and efficiency policies. It is considered a holding queue for installations that are
not complete, but your company will be working elsewhere for whatever reason.
Waiting: This tab is for installations where your company has completed all work possible and is waiting for
other trades or the general contractor to catch up so you can continue.
Roughed-In: This tab is for installations for which rough-in has been completed. The rough-in crew has
finished duct, equipment, venting, refrigerant lines, control wiring, etc. and rough inspection has either been
called or passed.
Trimmed-Out: This tab is for installations where grilles and registers (and maybe thermostats) have been
installed, but not outside units. The system is not ready to start, but the interior work has been completed.
Ready to Start: This tab is for installations where outside units have been installed as well as all interior work.
The installation is complete, but not yet started for the customer.
Billing: This final tab is where installations reside that are ready for any stage of billing. It might be weekly
progress billing, rough-in progress billing, finish-out progress billing, etc. At many companies, the Installation
Manager is responsible for creating Installation Invoices. In other companies, the General Manager, Accts
Receivable, or company owner does the Installation invoice creation and printing. The Billing tab is the queue
for the invoicing operation. Once billing has been completed, the installation should be transferred to the
appropriate progress tab (or archived if the installation is completely complete).
NOTE: These tabs are being used by many HVAC dealerships, but can be changed/altered as your company
deems fit. See Setup
Installation Status above if you wish to change the tab labels.
